We grow Turmeric (Curcuma longa) on our own farm and also buy from Maya farmers.

Turmeric powder is used in cooking (mostly Indian cuisine) and also consumed for medicinal purposes.

How to use.

Our Turmeric and Black pepper products are clean , but not sterilized. 

Turmeric is one of the main ingredients of curry powder.

May be used to making tea or latte.

Turmeric is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract but adding Black pepper enhances the absorption by about 2000 %.  We have a turmeric Black pepper mix (both from our own farm) at the best ratio to maximize absorption of Turmeric. The mixture we named as Turmeric Black pepper mix may be used as rub-on for grilling meat or fish

Our beehives are in the lemongrass section there by making our honey a little lemony.

We sell it unpasteurized since honey has qualities for self-preservation.The nutritional value also is diminished by heating. Customers have the option to pasteurise  by heating the honey to 145 degree F.for 30 minutes. Unpasteurized honey may not be suitable for infants and immunocompromized persons.

White pepper comes from the same plant as Black pepper. To make white pepper the berries are allowed to ripen on the vine. The ripening enhances the flavor and the berries changes to yellow and red in color (a magnet for Birds). while over-ripening some of the berries drop before harvesting. 

The berries are handpicked and soaked in water for a day or two allowing it to ferment and make the skin soft and easy to remove. The skin is easily removed and the remaining product is dried to make white pepper. White pepper is used in any dish that requires a little "pepper bite" without the black color. The shelf life is about2 to 3 years.

Recado paste is made from the seeds of Annatto, The paste is used as a natural coloring agent.

Annatto seed has a mild nutty taste other ingredients are coriander, Black pepper, Cumin, garlic, salt, and vinegar. Used in Belize to make stewed chicken, pork, or beef.

White pepper is a spice derived from Black pepper (Pepper nigrum). Mature (almost over ripe Black pepper, yellow or red in color) are picked selectively . The overmaturing help build more flavor. The skin is removed by hand after soaking in water and fermenting for few hrs. The resulting product is white pepper. It is less pungent but has enough "bite" to add flavour to many dishes like soup, sauces and potato dishes.
